A Simplified Numerical Method for Simulating the Generation of Linear Waves by a Moving Bottom

In this study, simplified linear numerical method that can simulate wave generation and transformation by a moving bottom is introduced. Numerical analysis conducted in number domain after continuity equation, dynamic kinematic free surface boundary conditions condition are Fourier transformed, the results expressed space an inverse transform. wavenumber domain, water numerically calculated, velocity potential mean level (<i>z</i> = 0) satisfies equation condition. Wave investigated when triangular rectangular shape of bottoms move periodically. The compared with previous analytical solutions agree well them. Stability according to calculation time interval (△<i>t</i>) (△<i>k</i>) was also investigated. It found were appropriate △<i>t</i>≤<i>T</i>(period)/1000 △<i>k</i>≤π/100.
